Hypercholesterolemia, also known as high cholesterol has been a health issue for many people for quite some time. Abnormal cholesterol levels are defined as having a high LDL cholesterol or low HDL cholesterol and you want to have a high HDL and a low LDL. Your LDL measures your “bad” cholesterol. Having a high LDL that goes untreated can cause buildup of plaque on the walls of arteries.
